Description. Hike along the ridges of the highest points in Alabama, including a stretch on the famous Pinhoti Trail. The Cave Creek Trail is a very comfortable, three-mile trail with some amazing views and relatively little elevation gain. At roughly two miles along the trail, you’ll come to a rocky overlook facing the south.

Sweetwater is 2.4 miles from Pine Glen. The trail continues on to Coleman lake (4 more miles). Between Sweetwater and Coleman is Laurel Trail Shelter and Shoal Creek Log Cabin Church and cemetery (circa1890). Coleman lake has a highly worn loop trail.
