The B58 horsepower ranges from 320-382hp straight from the factory. 340i and 440i models received the 320hp variant with 332 lb/ft of torque. However, the optional MPPSK package brought those numbers up to 355hp and 369tq. Much like the N55, the B58 displaces 3.0 liter (though it’s technically a tad bigger, at 2.998L compared to 2.979L) and uses a TwinPower twin-scroll turbocharger, though the B48’s is also a ...Also, the B58 is a closed aluminum deck, but the EA888 in the S3/R is a closed deck iron block engine with years of tuning history. The EA888 being an iron block is a big plus to it. Usually the EA888 is the last thing to blow in an S3/R. The B58 is comparatively new.
